The diamond-coated carbide cutter has 2 cutting edges with double relief grinding (chamfer 1+2) in the cutting edge area. These are beveled surfaces that reduce the force build-up when the cutting edge enters the milling material. The chip breaks off when the cutting edge exits; this results in smooth surfaces on the machined workpiece. The S-tip allows for smooth plunging into the machining material. Imperial CAD/CAM cutters are suitable for form milling of crown and bridge frameworks made of ZrO (zirconium oxide).
Due to the wide variety of machine systems and different milling strategies, the milling parameters must be determined individually, depending on the system, material and strategy, in order to achieve optimum results.
